Getting to know new friends
We are delighted to welcome several new Goshen College students to our music team Kara Mishler:I'm from Shipshewana and my home congregation is Shore Mennonite. I'm a fourth year Elementary Edcuation/Special Education major at Goshen. I want to be a teacher just like my Aunt Beth! When I have free time I like playing guitar, spend time with my friends, and watch cheesy movies.
Kimberly Friesen:I'm from Archbold, Ohio and my home congregation is Zion Mennonite Church. I am a junior Art/Graphic Design major and enjoy cooking, designing/decorating cakes, music and great conversations with friends.
Kelsey Shue:I'm a third year Goshen College student from Kidron, Ohio, studying Communications and minoring in Spanish. I like to sing, cook, practice my Spanish (it can always use it!), and spend time with friends and family. Interacting and learning about other cultures is something I love to do. Thanks for being such a welcoming church!

An Advent Invitation for Centering Prayer
Making space for God is a constant challenge in our lives. It becomes even more so in the busy days of the Christmas season. Centering Prayer is one way to allow ourselves the opportunity to ``be with God'' in silence. The focus is the deepening of our relationship with our Creator God. An ecumenical Group Centering Prayer experience is planned at College Mennonite Church for the four Monday evenings in Advent, November 30, December 7, 14, and 21.The time will be hosted by Marie Stoltzfus from College Mennonite. The Readers will be from various churches. Prayer time will start at 7:30 p.m. lasting about a half hour followed by a DVD with teachers and authors Fathers Richard Rohr and Thomas Keating, teachers and authors about centering prayer and contemplation. We expect to end by 8:45 p.m. If Centering Prayer is new to you, don't hesitate to come. There is guidance for our times together. If you cannot come to all the sessions, come for those to which you are able. You do not need to sign up. Invite other friends who may also be interested. There will be more details next week.
